I have always been ambitious, always wanted more, never wanted to just ‘settle’… But, the burning desire and passion to make something of myself only truly kicked in when I was in my early thirties with two littles ones under 5, Will and Rosie, and the immense pressure of becoming a single mum. We were living hand to mouth and didn’t have nearly enough money at the end of each month. I had been made redundant during my maternity leave. My marriage had broken down. I was suffering with anxiety. But, I decided then and there that I wasn’t going to return to the corporate world. I needed to work less hours for more pay. What kind of job can give you the luxury of a full-time wage, working from home with part-time hours around two little ones? Like many of you reading this, I was at a loss… It was my own mum who asked me to take a look at a business opportunity in network marketing just over 10 years ago in 2006. She had been asking me for several years prior to me becoming a mum, but the timing was just never right. Now though, for the first time in a long time, I had a sense of overwhelming clarity and a greater purpose — to give my kids the life I’ve always dreamed of having. Like any job I have ever started, I treated it very seriously. I saw the potential to earn a couple hundred pounds a month working very flexibly around Will & Rosie and I just ran with it. With mum’s help and under the umbrella of the company, Forever Living, my confidence (and the support I could afford my children and family) grew. Within five years I had developed a six-figure income built around being a single mum at home.
